Jordan's Travels

Having both parents work in the travel industry has provided me with opportunities to be immersed and exposed to different cultures.

China:

Visiting Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong in 2018 was an unforgettable experience. I toured the Tian Tan Buddha while in Hong Kong and walked the Great Wall of China in Beijing, and ended my trip trying flavorsome Dim Sum in Shanghai. Along my trip, I was able to experience Taoism and Buddhism by going to local festivals and museums.

Panama:

Panama is dense with history and culture. Boating down the Panama Canal taught me how important the canal is for world trading, and visiting the Embera Quera tribe immersed me in their unique culture from their food to their dances!

Aruba:

Aruba is as beautiful as it is unique. Walking along the flamingo island and touring the desert reminded me how amazing our planet is. Listening to locals’ stories about how they grow their products inspired me to try new foods throughout my trip. It’s confirmed that Aruba’s one happy island!

Florida Keys:

Once again, I was reminded of how beautiful Earth is after visiting the Florida Keys. While kayaking through mangrove islands I was able to observe marine life which only fascinated me more with biology. Learning about Cuban culture and trying Cuban food in Key West encouraged me to look forward to my next travels to Cuba!

Grand Canyon:

After visiting twenty-one states and seeing many of the world’s wonders, the Grand Canyon was one to remember. Flying over the Grand Canyon allowed me to see how the canyon was created, and later boating down the Colorado River I absorbed the history of the Havasupai and Hualapai tribes.

Canada:

Canada is home to my family and is my second home. Traveling from the most Western province, British Columbia, to the largest Eastern province, Quebec, has allowed me to learn new activities and shown me the beauty of Canada. I learned how to kayak while visiting my grandparents in Vancouver, British Columbia, and continued learning new activities such as skiing in Montreal, Quebec. Watching the changing of the guards in Ottawa, Ontario always made me eager to continue my travels to London, England.
